A Georgian Toast - 2020
During the filming of the documentary film The Gift, Giuliano Fratini meets Marlen Chuciev, who agrees to talk about Tarkovsky. But before he is asked any questions, as a sign of thanks to his Italian hosts, he wants to talk about Italy and in particular about Fellini, about their friendship born at the Moscow Festival in 1963. His eyes light up as he returns to his youthful years, when the Italian master in Moscow asks to meet him, that little Georgian who had problems with the regime's censorship. This little film is a tribute to the Italian genius on the centenary of his birth, but also to the Georgian master, who died a few months ago.
